Walk for Shelter Reflection: Huge Success - 248 walkers

The Good Shepherd Alliance’s 5th Annual Walk for Shelter this past Saturday was a huge success. There were 248 walkers! This is the largest walk they’ve had and was an increase of 112 walkers from last year. Common Ground Church provided the moon bounces, lunch for walkers, sound, volunteers, and helped organize, plan, and market this year’s walk. We’re so thankful to have had the opportunity to serve on behalf of the homeless and to advocate for their needs to our community. We know God is pleased with our expression of love. Mark your calendar’s for next year’s walk on Saturday, September 18th, 2010.

Wow, what a great time I had today walking for the homeless. I met some new people, made new friends and, ran into a former neighbor and her children. I am glad my time spent today was doing something so extraordinary for other people.
